Rotational molding powder, also known as roto-molding powder, is commonly polymer powder used for the rotational molding process. The global production of rotomolding powder is estimated at XXX – XXX KMT as of 2020.
The rotational molding process was initially developed in 1780-1790, wherein the hollow molds are heated and rotated slowly, causing the material inside to coat on the walls of the mold to produce the desired shape and size of the object. Container tanks account for a significant share of the target market. Rotational molding is considered an optimal process for the production of chemical storage tanks from cross-linked polyethylenes. These tanks are considered excellent for chemicals storage compared to HDPE tanks since the latter tends to crack and are prone to notch sensitivity.
