Dye sensitized solar cells (DSSC) are cost effective thin film photovoltaic cells. DSSC are easy to manufacture using roll-pointing techniques, is semi-flexible, semi-transparent, and is not applicable to photovoltaic system. DSSC is a composition of porous layer of titanium dioxide nanoparticles, and covered with a molecular dye that absorbs sunlight. DSSC’s are most efficient third-generation solar technology, that absorbs more sunlight per surface area than standard silicon-based solar panels.
