Responsibilities

As a Senior Research Analyst (SRA), your tasks can include:

Scheduling calls or communication with clients to negotiate and agree upon research projects; preparing briefs and commissioning research; formulating a plan or proposal and presenting it to the client or senior management; writing and managing the distribution of surveys and questionnaires; briefing interviewers and researchers; conducting qualitative or quantitative surveys using statistical software to manage and organize information; monitoring the progress of research projects; analyzing and interpreting data to identify patterns and solutions, including surveys and focus group transcripts; writing detailed reports and presenting efficient, factual, and accurate results.

Qualifications

Candidates with a degree and good communication and analytical skills are sure to come out on top. Seeking to get into quantitative research would be easier if you are familiar with some of the below-mentioned subjects:

Business or management; economics; mathematics; statistics.

Skills

You will need to show good interpersonal skills, with strong written and oral communication skills; good analytical and numerical skills; accuracy and attention to detail; ability to use initiative; excellent organizational skills; business awareness; creativity and problem-solving skills; teamwork and negotiation skills; flexibility and drive; IT literacy; and a mild interest in psychology and consumer behavior.

Work Experience

Pre-entry experience in areas such as research, statistical data analysis, and interview techniques will be helpful. While many of the skill sets mentioned above are required for individuals applying for experienced or senior positions, it is not a stringent requirement for freshers or those fresh out of college or university.
