Amazon will soon start tutorial sessions for the rest of the world after Germany and the UK. The e-commerce company of US is bringing its vibrating speakers to the Indian market. The speakers will use the mixed language of English and Hindi and will come up with Hinglish.
The accent will be completely Indian thus enabling Indian users to understand it properly. “We felt echo speakers should deliver knowledge in our local accent”, says Amazon’s production management head, Parag Gupta.
Next target of Alexa in the list will be Siri; Apple’s operating system. Most of the Indians understand but they are more comfortable with a British or American accent. Some of the words are merged together to form a different word having completely different meaning.
The company will provide digital assistant making it easier for the users to understand the language and its meaning. Majority of the Indian users are interested in knowing trends of cricket games and Bollywood movies.
They have also started making online transactions, digital payments, and more socially active. Hence, considering their understanding level, its pleasing if we get the echo speakers speaking our accent. Alphabet, the partnered company of Google introduced Google Assistant speaking an Indian accent for the messaging app Allo.
Alongside, iPhone rolled out an updated operating system for the Siri users. They can have the flawless running of words with its new Hinglish keyboards. Apple’s chief executive officer, Tim Cook says, “We are trying to deliver best of our offerings to the Indian customers who use the iPhone especially the Siri operating system.”
Amazon will be spending around $1.5 billion in the Indian market to solve the language fencing issue of the customers here. This is really going to take a lot of time, money and skills but anyways it’s definitely going to happen.
